It seemed like Carousel could support overscan, as there is more space on the top and bottom of the menu to move the text away from the perimeter, so that's why I asked, as opposed to messing up a perfectly good XMB menu implementation that works great for people to don't have overscan issues. So, that is the reason why creating a menu that supports overscan is helpful. It's painful to see how much video I actually lose on the edges (somewhere between 3-5%), and I need to remind myself of that when I'm recording to allow extra space on the perimeter.
